Well you cannot deny that the Belgium Football Team is in its Golden period. Ranked 2nd in the FIFA rankings and putting up a great display in the EURO 2016, they look like the team to be feared.
Marc Wilmots had a pretty good run with his boys in the 2014 FIFA World Cup when they reached the Quarter Finals sadly losing to hosts Brazil. But keeping the past behind them, Belgium now enter the Round of 16 in the EURO 16. But the question remains, “Do they have what it takes to become the champions?”
Though I am sure many must have been worried after the opening day defeat against Italy but they’ve come back, and what a come it’s been.
So what next? Belgium’s ‘Golden Generation’, bristling with talent, have added two years’ worth of experience since reaching the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil. The round of 16 is therefore just the first step, the bare minimum.
While Hungary is a ‘hungry’ team looking to make it big this year, Belgium won’t take it easy on them. It will be a complicated affair, but Belgium just has to show how much they want it more than Hungary to keep their campaign going after a strong but brief storm.
Yannick Carrasco……Kevin De Bruyne…..Witsel…….Lukaku……Nainggolan……Courtois………HAZARD…..
And the list is endless!!! We sure hope Hungary should not cause them an upset.
It also seems like all the debutants are killing it this time. Four of the five EURO 2016 finals newcomers – Iceland, Northern Ireland, Slovakia and Wales – qualified for the round of 16. Only Albania could not make it to the next level.
So all in all it is gonna be a very tight game for everyone. I just hope everybody could play to the best of their abilities and may the best team win. Oh no wait may Belgium win this thing!!!
