Sorry Zimbabwe, or not?

Zimbabwe Cricket had its regular visitor touring last week, India. The series ended (as expected) by India winning 3-0, yet another whitewash. This is the third consecutive whitewash by India versus Zimbabwe. In 2013 India beat them 5-0, then in 2015 3-0 and now again 3-0.  Last time Zimbabwe beat India was way back on 3rd June 2010 in a tri series.

This series was disappointing for Zimbabwe in all means. They were all out for paltry totals in all the one dayers, falling like nine pins. Their batting collapsed on every occasion though nothing should be taken away from the Indian bowlers. The spinners did their job and the seamers bowled brilliantly. Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief taking 9 wickets while giving only 77 runs in the three matches. Dhawal Kulkarni bowled tightly first up and all the others be it Chahal or Sran finished it up almost gobbling the Zimbabwe batters.

Chasing low scores in all the matches, Indian batters didn’t have to do much. KL Rahul after making a hundred on debut finished the series with 196 runs and was adjudged the Man of the Series.

Factology-Only Vusi Sibanda scored a 50 for Zimbabwe.
